It has been a long time since we have heard any news for a successful follow up to the Left 4 Dead series. Turtle Rock Studios the company behind the original Left 4 Dead back in 2008 has now revealed their newest project with gameplay, screenshots and photos of Back 4 Blood. As quoted from the official back4blood.com website "Back 4 Blood is a thrilling cooperative first-person shooter from the creators of the critically acclaimed Left 4 Dead franchise. You are at the center of a war against the Ridden. These once-human hosts of a deadly parasite have turned into terrifying creatures bent on devouring what remains of civilization. With humanity’s extinction on the line, it’s up to you and your friends to take the fight to the enemy, eradicate the Ridden, and reclaim the world."
Now if that doesn't leave you excited for Zombie gameplay, I don't know what does. I remember back in 2008 when I was 14 years old staying up all night putting in tons of hours into L4D with my younger brother and our cousins playing on the Xbox 360. We would stay up all night until 3 or 4 in the morning laughing having so much fun trying to earn achievements, making up fun games like Safe Room racing with our cousins. Basically Safe Room racing was speed running the game before speed running was cool except there were no rules of any kind. I remember being so jealous of my brother because he unlocked the achievement What Are You Trying to Prove? - Survive all campaigns on Expert. I still to this day cannot beat Blood Harvest on Expert. Yes, I truly do miss those days.
Enough with my dreaming to being a kid again with no responsibilities. I do have to admit though when I watched new gameplay for Back 4 Blood a little bit of my 14 year old self came alive again. If you haven't yet signed up for the Closed Alpha Testing you can on the back4blood website all you have to do is put in your email and create a WB games account to activate your code if you receive one.
Back 4 Blood will release on June 22, 2021 for PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, and PC.
